Grow: Song of the Evertree has a lot of things going on at once to keep you busy and create an engrossing gameplay loop. Outside of growing your own floating worlds, there is a bustling town management system for you to delve into. This system is divided into two parts, building up your town and managing the various NPCs who come to live there. As any gamer knows though, NPCs tend to be a demanding bunch and can sometimes be tough to get along with.
Completing Requests | Grow: Song of the Evertree
Once you begin seeing NPCs in your town, you will notice that they quickly start making demands. Luckily, most of these demands can be managed easily as they aren’t going to ask you to fight any dragons. NPCs will mostly voice their wants, such as a home to live in when they first arrive and a good place to work. The harder requests are the ones that show up once they are settled in.
- Quick Tip: You can quickly fly to your seeds by pressing M in your town. You can fly back and forth as many times as needed to get the required quest items. Also, remember that you can check quests in your book by pressing B at any time.
NPCS will ask you to find items like fruits and give them clothing items to change up their looks. Sometimes, these will be simple things you have in your inventory, like a new type of haircut, while others will want to request an item like pants that you haven’t yet run across. Of course, if they request an item that you don’t want them to wear, you can simply give them another for them to put on afterward.
Completing quests will also reward you with items. The reward can be a new accessory or even wallpaper for decorating your town. From time to time, story NPCs will also call you over for special quests or cutscenes.
NPC Jobs | Grow: Song of the Evertree
Additionally, NPCs will have a preferred job and will work best when placed there. You can check each NPC’s dream job by checking their profile. You will want to match the NPCs to their dream job as quickly as possible and interact with them daily to raise their star level. Some story NPCs will require special jobs; if you have an NPC who is already in the position, simply go to the management system and hit the delete button to remove them.
Increasing Happiness | Grow: Song of the Evertree
You will want to keep your town happy; to do this, you're going to need to interact with the stone in the middle of your district. This stone will tell you what you need to do to achieve 100% happiness. Typically, there are several different tasks to complete, like having a certain amount of houses, decorations, and unique buildings.
Festivals | Grow: Song of the Evertree
The town will have Festivals that will allow you to earn coupons when you complete quests. Take advantage of these days as they will allow you to redeem the coupons at the festival grounds. These items are hard to come by and can help you gain access to chests with rare items in them.
