It wouldn't be a new Final Fantasy game if there wasn't a new Superboss to face off against. While the Weapons do appear briefly as part of the story it's actually Gilgamesh that the players will be facing off against.
In this Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Gilgamesh Superboss Guide we will tell you how to face off against Gilgamesh.
Who is Gilgamesh?
Gilgamesh is a Final Fantasy boss who has been appearing in Final Fantasy titles since Final Fantasy V but due to the nature of his reality-hopping powers has appeared in a vast number of other numbered entries.
In Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, he is tied to the Phenomena Quests that appear in each region of the world.
Gilgamesh Superboss Requirements
- Obtain all six protorelics
Each region will have a Phenomena World Intel, these will be a group of four Phenomena that add a small storyline to each region. For each region's Phenomena that you complete, you'll obtain a protorelic and get a new cutscene showing Gilgamesh
- Obtain all Summon's from Chadley's VR Combat Simulator.
There are six summons that can be obtained from Chadley's VR Combat Simulator. They are Titan, Phoenix, Alexander, Kujata, Bahamut Arisen, and Odin. One unlocks per region.
- Reach Chapter 13
After obtaining all six protorelics the gateway to Gilgamesh Island will unlock. This can be found across the sea and can only be accessed in Chapter 13.
It's important to not that this battle is a Level 70 challenge so while you might be able to defeat him early in Easy mode it will be past finishing the game that you'll be strong enough to defeat him.
When does Kid G call for Corel Protorelic Phenomena 3 in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth?
If you've been completing all of the Protorelic Phenomena as you've been finishing the game you might be surprised that you can only complete two Phenomena in Corel before Kid G offers to swap phone numbers and call you later.
Kid G will call you again during Chapter 12 when you return to the Corel region for story purposes.
Gilgamesh Superboss - Temper Protorelics
Once you reach Gilgamesh Island you'll need to temper each of the Protorelics. To do this you'll need to approach each of the three shrines on Gilgamesh island and take on extremely difficult boss fights against two summons at a time.
- Protorelic 2 - Defeat Titan and Bahamut
- Protorelic 3 - Defeat Kujata and Phoenix
- Protorelic 4 - Defeat Odin and Alexander
- The Odin fight here is easier than his summon fight as he no longer has his instant kill attack
After tempering the protorelics at each of the shrines you'll be able to approach the Enkidu Gate once more and be let inside by Gilgamesh. Approaching him at his garden to the right side of his building will begin the fight against Gilgamesh.
