Hello, TechRaptor readers! Here’s what you may have missed in the world of tabletop wargaming over the last week.
Games Workshop has had a busy schedule in the last week with plenty of releases and pre-orders for both Warhammer: Age of Sigmar and Warhammer 40K. The Death Guard release wave continues with the Harbingers of Decay patrol detachament bundle, Foul Blightspawn, Blightlord Terminators, and a reimagined Typhus, Herald of Nurgle miniature as well. The Death Guard releases will continue into next week as well with a pair of characters in Scribbus Wretch the Tallyman and Nauseus Rotbone the Plague Surgeon along with a multi-part Foetid Bloat-drone and the disgusting-looking Plagueburst Crawler. Next week’s pre-order wave will also include the new codex for the Astra Militarum and a new terrain set with Moon Base Klasius. The new terrain set includes a set of Imperial-themed ruins along with enough card tiles to quickly set up a thematic 6’ x 4’ game table as well. A complete writeup of next week’s pre-orders is available on the Warhammer Community website.
In Age of Sigmar news, the company has announced pre-orders for their first campaign system for Age of Sigmar with Firestorm, a map based campaign system pitting players against one another for control over the Flamescar Plateau in the Realm of Fire. The campaign system comes with a map, plenty of markers, and new allegiance abilities not only the cities on the plateau but for the various grand alliances as well. To go along with this campaign system, the company has also announced pre-orders for three bundles representing the cities of Hammerhal, Anvilgard, and the Tempest’s Eye to give players a quick boost for their existing armies or a start to a new army.
Corvus Belli has announced the upcoming release wave for Infinity. This release wave contains:
- Nomad Taskmaster, Bakunin SWAST Team
- PanOceania Crusader Bretheren
- USAriadna Blackjacks, 10th Heavy Ranger Battalion
- Combined Army Pneumarch of the Ur Hegemony
- ALEPH Andromeda, Sophistes of the Steel Phalanx
- Toha Gao-Rel
- Yu Jing Tiger Soldiers repack
- Nomad Corregidor Jurisdictional Command army box
Warcradle Studios released their first preview video for new content for Wild West Exodus earlier last week. The preview focused on the Infernal Investigations posse for the Lawmen. Lore-wise, the Infernal Investigations posse is a mix of Lawmen internal affairs and steampunk Ghostbusters tacking more paranormal issues the everyday deputies and rangers are ill-equipped to handle. A specific release date for the posse was not announced, though Warcradle has said to expect them in early 2018.

Steamforged Games has released a preview for Hearth, the next Master coming for the Guild Ball Blacksmith’s Guild. The preview contains not only a render of the upcoming unit but the unit stat card as well. Hearth is a very offense-focused Master, providing attack buffs to nearby team members either in giving nearby players an additional 2 net hits or changing their melee zone to 2” to help deal with tricky opponents who like to dodge out of the way while on the pitch. The complete preview is currently available on the Steamforged Games blog.
And finally, the Kickstarter campaign for Archon Studio‘s Empire of Men model range is well on its way. The crowdfunding campaign focuses on a range of 28mm WWI-themed science fiction miniatures for two distinct factions: the German-themed Great Empire and the sleek, alien Echelon Dominion. For Warhammer 40K fans looking for a less expensive way to either build or flesh out a Death Korps of Kreig army, the Great Empire infantry would be a much less expensive route to consider. As of this writing, the campaign is currently sitting at nearly $8,100 of its $5,000 goal with 13 days left.
