About Adam Potts

Adam is a Tabletop Specialist for TechRaptor. He started writing for TechRaptor in 2017 and took over as Tabletop Editor in 2019 and has since stood down because of new job commitments.

Adam has been involved in all areas of tabletop gaming, initially with roleplaying and with games like Space Crusade and Heroquest, before moving on to Games Workshop proper with Blood Bowl and 2nd Edition Warhammer 40,000. He then moved through a competitive stage of CCGs, playing Magic the Gathering at a high level, along with Legend of the Five Rings, Vampire, and Battletech CCGs.

Determined to work in the industry, Adam became a playtester, organized play manager, and flavor text writer for Sabretooth Games, working on the Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 CCGs they produced and had articles published in print in several gaming magazines. Adam more recently worked as a Project Manager for Modiphius Entertainment, planning and developing the Elder Scrolls tabletop game, A Call to Arms.

Adam continued his love of gaming journalism by writing reviews for a few online sites, before joining TechRaptor where he built and expanded the relationships with several of the industry’s biggest publishers. Adam loves to write tabletop gaming guides, talking about unique mechanics and explaining the products needed to play in order to break down barriers to entry and make games as accessible and inclusive to all.

When Adam doesn’t have access to an opponent, or tabletop, he makes time for video games, having played the Counter-Strike Beta at a competitive level in 1997, along with Gwent competitively during its beta in 2016, he now enjoys Magic the Gathering Arena, Hitman, turn-based strategy games, and the huge amount of Games Workshop IPs that are hitting the digital medium.

Adam is a trained close protection operative and ex-UK military. He enjoys traveling with his wife and learning and exploring martial arts.

Although Adam’s new job in Crisis Management takes up most of his time, and he has had to Marie Kondo most of his tabletop collection, he still actively plays Bushido, Warhammer Underworlds, Kill Team, Infinity, and Malifaux, and will gladly make anyone sit through a tea ceremony in real-time in an L5R RPG.
