Fans have been waiting for The Wolf Among Us 2 for a long time, and unfortunately, the wait has just gotten longer, as the highly-anticipated sequel has been delayed.
According to an announcement made on social media, the game has been delayed out of 2023 as the development will require more time. That being said, the studio is committed to delivering the "sequel that fans deserve" while "protecting the health of the team."
You can read the definitely apologetic statement below.
We've made the difficult decision to delay The Wolf Among Us 2 out of 2023.
We know, its frustrating to hear.
We started work on this in 2020 and we're still determined to tell the ongoing story of Bigby and the rest of the Fabletown gang. However, it is going to require more time. As disappointed as you are hearing this, we feel worse having to say it.
But the work continues.
We're committed to delivering the sequel fans deserve and doing what's right for the game while protecting the health of our team.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.
The Telltale Team
If you're unfamiliar with the franchise, it debuted in episodic form in 2013, with the fifth and last episode released in the summer of 2014.
Fans feared that the series was lost after Telltale Games closed due to lack of funding in 2018, but then the brand was revived the following year, sparking hope for a sequel. Ultimately, The Wolf Among Us 2 was announced all the way back in December 2019 at The Game Awards, and it has been in development since, albeit the developers have remained rather secretive on the game and not much has been shown besides a trailer showcased last year.
At the moment, a new release window has not been shared, and we'll have to wait for a new announcement about it.
