It's time to take another look at the UK boxed charts, and this week, Mortal Kombat 1 reigns supreme.
For the week ending September 23rd, Mortal Kombat 1 is in first place, so a whole lot of people have picked up the fighting game, which stars big names like Megan Fox and Jean-Claude Van Damme.
Second place this week goes to Hogwarts Legacy, which means Warner Bros. Interactive officially holds both first and second place.
In third, it's puppet Soulslike Lies of P, which is genuinely surprising to me. Perhaps it's filling that void left by the lack of a Bloodborne 2 and From Software refraining from delivering any Elden Ring DLC news.
Fourth place goes to Nintendo's physical version of its recent Pikmin 1 + 2 collection. I'm genuinely rooting for those little guys, no pun intended.
In fifth place, it's the party racer that simply will not die, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. I'm pretty sure civilization could collapse and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe would still find a way to sell well.
Next up, it's Cyberpunk 2077 in sixth place, which isn't a big surprise given that its Phantom Liberty DLC is out today (or tomorrow, in some areas). Make sure you're up on your region's launch timing if you want to play it.
Seventh place goes to Payday 3, which isn't bad given that the game is available via Xbox and PC Game Pass as well.
In eighth, it's another mainstay in Grand Theft Auto V, which likely keeps finding purchase in these charts thanks to the enduring popularity of GTA Online.
Ninth place goes to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, and tenth place goes to Minecraft, rounding off the charts nicely.
Eleventh through fifteenth place this week are as follows: The Crew Motorfest, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt Game of the Year Edition, Lego Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and Red Dead Redemption 2.
Interestingly enough, Starfield, which was number one just a couple of weeks ago, has plummeted to nineteenth place, although it is worth noting that a lot of folks are likely still playing it on Game Pass, as its 10 million-strong player count indicates.
That's it for this week's charts! Stick around to find out what's going to top the bill next week.
