NIS America has finally announced a PS5 release date for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4.
The games will make their way to Sony's current-gen console on February 16th, complete with "better than ever" performance and a whole bunch of cosmetic DLC to change your characters' appearance as well.
Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 will both also feature sharper visuals, with NIS America promising "high definition" graphics that allow you to "experience [the game's] beautiful surroundings like never before".
Alongside the release date announcement, NIS America also unveiled a new gameplay trailer that shows the two JRPGs in action on PS5. You can check that trailer out right here.
The Trails of Cold Steel games are a sub-series belonging to the overarching Trails series, which is itself a sub-series of the Legend of Heroes franchise.
Tracking the hierarchy of these games can get a little tricky, so be sure to take a look at our guide on getting into the Trails games if they're something you're interested in.
Trails of Cold Steel 3 picks up two years after the second game and once again follows protagonist Rean Schwarzer, who's now an instructor at the military academy at which he was previously studying.
Meanwhile, Trails of Cold Steel 4 begins two weeks after the previous game's conclusion and follows Class VII as they attempt to rescue Rean, who's been taken prisoner by Chancellor Giliath Osborne.
It also boasts the most playable characters in the series and represents the end of the Cold Steel series, although Trails into Reverie picks up where Cold Steel 4 leaves off.
The games are both turn-based JRPGs that emphasize tactical combat, building relationships with other characters, and equipping Quartz accessories to improve skills and customize battle strategies.
Trails of Cold Steel 3 and 4 are both currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. The games will land on PS5 on February 16th.
