Ahead of its anticipated release next month, NIS America has released a demo for The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III. The English-language demo is live in many major regions around the world. The Trails of Cold Steel III demo covers the entire prologue, and the save data contained within carries over to the full game. Note that if you want to get the trophy for defeating the end boss of the prologue, you'll have to make a save right before the boss, and beat it when Trails of Cold Steel III releases next month. The demo also contains an in-game encyclopedia full of information on characters and events for series newcomers and veterans alike. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III releases on October 22nd.
Picking up a year and a half after the events in Trails of Cold Steel II, Trails of Cold Steel III continues the story of Rean Schwarzer and his band of allies. Now an instructor at a military academy, Rean and his students spend their days studying military tactics and training, as Rean enjoys his status as a war hero. Unfortunately, the peace he fought for did not last long, so now he must fight to save his home once again. Blending expansive storytelling with turn-based action combat, Trails of Cold Steel III is sure to continue the series' legacy.
The latest English entry into the long-running Legend of Heroes series continues the excellent Trails of Cold Steel arc. Though we're only now getting our hands on Cold Steel III, roughly two years after its original Japanese release, NIS America has been promoting the launch for months, demoing it on a whirlwind tour at conferences around the world. There's still one more game to go in the Cold Steel story arc, which concluded last year in Japan with Trails of Cold Steel IV: The End of Saga. We'll be able to see just how Rean and his friends survive their next round of trials when The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel III launches on October 22nd.
