The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is just around the corner, and NIS America has released a new gameplay trailer to give you a sense of what the frantic turn-based combat is going to feel like. As with the Trails of Cold Steel series, you'll have access to an extensive set of party members and abilities to combine as you see fit in order to overcome your enemies.

Previous Trails into Reverie trailers have shown off the game's suite of minigames and cast of characters, but it's the combat's turn to shine in this new trailer. As it begins, the trailer bids you to "gather your team and prepare for battle", and there's a shot of the frankly massive cast of characters in the game, headed up by Rean Schwarzer and Lloyd Bannings, as they get ready to enter combat.

First up, we get to see characters using Orbal Arts, gained by equipping Quartz. These arts have various different elemental properties and effects, so you'll need to be clever with their use to maximize your strategy. We also get to see character-specific Crafts in action; each character has access to a unique set of abilities they can use in addition to the Quartz they can equip.

There's also a special kind of Quartz called Master Quartz, which will grant bonuses and create unique character builds when you equip it. Together with the party-focused Team Attacks and Brave Orders, you should have the tools you need to turn the tide of even the trickiest battle, especially if you're already familiar with some of these systems from the preceding Trails of Cold Steel games.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is set for release on PC, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch on July 7th. The game will serve as the conclusion of the Crossbell arc, which spans Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure, and the Erebonia arc, which is contained within the aforementioned Trails of Cold Steel series.
