On Friday, July 14th at 6PM CST a group of gamers from Arlington, Texas called TheSpeedGamers will attempt to stream 120 hours of Final Fantasy in a marathon charity event. This Final Fantasy marathon will raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. The group has already raised $720,000 for various charities since they got their start in 2008 and are looking to increase that number this summer.

Tune in to see TheSpeedGamers (TSG) playthrough Final Fantasy I-X, XII, XIII, and XV in their entirety as viewers make donations to their noble cause. That’s a lot of JRPG’s to get through but it’s what TSG does best. During their Final Fantasy Marathon in 2009 they became the Guinness World Record holders for “Longest Relay of a Japanese RPG”. Then they did it again in 2013. So getting through all those games is a challenge these gamers are well prepared to meet. They’re also going to be playing some Final Fantasy XI and XIV as well to add to the entertaining feat.

Playing games in the Final Fantasy franchise alone, TSG has earned $80,000 for charity. This summer they’ll be giving 100% of donated proceeds to St. Jude, but in the past they’ve raised money for Direct Relief International, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, ACT Today! and many more. Those that want to donate during the marathon can do so through PayPal or with a Visa or MasterCard via a donation link on the page for the stream.

Over five days and 120 hours of gameplay the group will provide commentary, contests, prize incentives and interactions through the Twitch chat feed, Twitter and Facebook so viewers can be apart of the fun. TSG hopes to raise even more money for St. Jude than they have in the past with the help of fellow gamers. The Final Fantasy Marathon for charity will take place on July 14th. You will be able to watch it live on Twitch here.
