Remember that Fallout 76 canvas bag that was promised as a pre-order bonus item for the $200 version of Fallout 76? Well, Bethesda does, and is finally planning on shipping those bags next week.
When originally released seven months ago, many fans were outraged over the quality of their pre-order bonus item, which was part of the Power Armor Edition of the total package. Instead of a canvas bag, a nylon bag was given out to customers, with tons of rumors circulating that influencers were given preferential treatment by getting a real canvas bag. The so-called 'NylonGate' controversy was but one part of the overall outrage against Bethesda and the overall quality of Fallout 76 when it launched, and the company did itself no favors in how it handled the situation, which at first was giving out a measly 500 atoms (roughly $5.00) of in-game currency to the players who could then buy nothing of substance with it.
Bethesda however, is trying to make good on their promise, announcing over twitter that the Fallout 76 canvas bags are expected to ship next week.
"Once the final date is confirmed, our team will be following up on those submitted tickets. We appreciate everyone’s patience." said the twitter statement.
Bethesda has previously asked purchasers of the Power Armor Edition to make a claim for their canvas bag by March 1st, back in January. They extended the deadline until May 3rd of this year for players, who will now finally be getting their long-awaited canvas bag.
Fallout 76 has been plagued with numerous problems since launch, but Bethesda continues to develop content for the game, including a massive 8.5 patch, titled Wild Appalachia, which improves not only performance and rebalances the game but added some new items to the game.
