After years of work and a brush with failure, The Good Life release date has finally been announced: you'll be able to get your hands on Swery's delightfully weird "debt repayment RPG" next month.
In The Good Life, you take on the role of a photographer from New York named Naomi. She's set out to the sleepy town of Rainy Woods with a goal to investigate why it's considered the happiest town in the world -- and it looks like she finds much more than she bargained for. Check out The Good Life Release Date Announcement Trailer to get a feel for this odd and charming game!
As a photojournalist, you'll be able to take pictures in the town and earn commissions from The Morning Bell newspaper. You're going to need the cash, too, as Naomi is in massive debt for an unexplained reason. There's also a pretty large town to explore, and you don't have to do it as a human: you have the ability to transform into either a dog or a cat. Also, you can ride a sheep.
A strange game from Suehiro "Swery" Hidetaka is to be expected, but what's particularly surprising is that this game almost didn't make it. The game had a failed Fig campaign in 2017, but Swery took a second shot at a Kickstarter campaign which ultimately succeeded. It later faced some delays in 2020 before finally locking down a release date for next month.
When is The Good Life Release Date?
The Good Life release date is October 15, 2021. You'll be able to play this game on PC via Steam, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
There's still a lot we don't know about this game, but it's sure to be an interesting experience. For now, you can add The Good Life to your wishlist on Steam.
