Today, during a panel at Anime Expo, a collaboration between the recently released fighting game Street Fighter 6 and the popular anime Spy x Family has been announced.
Below you can check out the art for the collaboration created by Chisato Mita shared on Twitter, portraying characters who will definitely prove familiar to fans of the two franchises. The theme is "I'm meeting someone stronger than me."
No further information was shared about the collaboration, and more information has been promised down the line.
Street Fighter 6 is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Additionally, an arcade version will be released through Taito, though it may only be available in Japan for the time being.
You can read our review of the game in which our Robert Scarpinito defined it as "one of the easiest on-ramps to the deep world of fighting games, appealing to casual players and veterans alike. With a diverse roster, meaty gameplay, and flashy animations," expecting the game to be an "FGC staple for years to come."
Recently, we learned that Rashid, A.K.I., Ed, and Akuma will come as DLC characters respectively in Summer 2023, Fall 2023, Winter (after the new year in 2024), and Spring 2024.
If you're not familiar with Spy x Family, it debuted as a manga by Tatsuya Endo on the pages of Shueisha's Shounen Jump+ magazine in 2019 and it's still ongoing. It also generated an extremely popular anime series with a second season starting in October 2023 and a theatrical movie debuting in December.
