Today Microsoft revealed a brand new special edition Xbox Wireless Controller, named "Stormcloud Vapor."
According to the announcement, the effect decorating on the controller is described as a "dark navy swirl" and it's inspired by clouds and stormy skies.
The back of the controller features solid colors for a neat look, and the front is decorated with buttons that all match the main hue. It's pretty neat, and you can see what both sides look like below.
It's already available for pre-order on the official Xbox store with a release date of August 8. The price is the usual for this kind of controller, $69.99. The compatibility is also nothing new, and you'll be able to use it with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and smartphones/tablets.
This isn't surprising as this kind of special edition is pretty much a normal Xbox Wireless Controller under the special coat of paint, so it comes with all the features you're used to from this kind of accessory.
By purchasing the controller you can also unlock an exclusive dynamic background for the home screen of your Xbox Series X|S which matches the colors.
Microsoft has been very active in releasing special edition wireless controllers for its Xbox consoles going including the gleaming Stellar Shift and the eco-friendly Remix Special Edition. Of course, you can also get your own customized version with the Xbox Design Lab, which lets you choose the colors for both the normal wireless controller and the Elite version. That being said, the lab doesn't let you choose a visual effects similar to the latest special editions, so you're stuck with simpler designs, at least for now.
