Today Bethesda announced that the next update for its massive RPG Starfield will be available publicly at a beta test next week.
As announced on the developer's X (formerly Twitter) account, the update will include support for Nvidia DLSS and frame generation, display and HDR controls, and other optimization and improvement.
It'll be made available to test only on PC via Steam and players will be able to opt-in via the options on Valve's client.
After the patch receives feedback (and any found bugs are fixed, I suppose), it will officially launch on all platforms including Xbox.
Of course, DLSS will be available only for PC, so Xbox users will get only the rest of the improvements. AMD FSR3 support will also come in a future update, albeit it won't be on this one.
This is certainly a pretty big deal for many users of Nvidia video cards, considering that the game launched without DLSS support, forcing players to use a mod in order to enjoy Nvidia's technology, which remains at the top of its class for those who can use it.
The inclusion of DLSS was then announced a while ago, alongside the mention that official mod support is coming in early 2024.
Starfield is currently available for PC and Xbox Series X|S, on top of Game Pass. last week, we heard that the game had achieved 11 million players directly from Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella. It also dominated Circana's (formerly NPD's) sales charts for the month of September.
