If you're hoping that EA and DICE will be adding more new maps like the Jakku map from the new Star Wars movies, you may be left disappointed. In a response on Twitter, the official Star Wars: Battlefront Twitter account responded to a user's question whether content derived from episode 7 will make its way to Battlefront, with EA responding that they're focussing on the original trilogy for this release. The implication here seems to be that, even though they are not planning on adding new locales from the new movies, they may be coming to the franchise in a later installment.

Adding in new planets, vehicles and heroes from the new movies seem like a more than logical next step for EA's Star Wars: Battlefront, so this may be coming as a bit of a surprise. One can imagine that developing DLC that would allow players to visit the new locales would be a smart business decision, especially since The Force Awakens is breaking all kinds of theatrical records at the moment and Star Wars being more relevant than it has been in a decade. This also means that Star Wars: Battlefront won't be including the Clone Wars in this release, which would have been a perfect addition to the game.

Star Wars: Battlefront got released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One last month to lukewarm reviews, with critics praising the game's visuals and noting the game's lack of content, a singleplayer campaign and depth. We did a review on this as well, you can check that one out by going here.

And as if that wasn't already enough, EA has said nothing of organizing a special event to commemorate the Star Wars equivalent to Christmas called 'Life Day', which was the major focus of the notorious Christmas special that many a fan has attempted to banish from their memories.

I've been playing games since I was just barely able to walk so I might as well write about them.
