It's a pretty good time to be a Spyro the Dragon fan. Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming to Nintendo Switch and PC this summer.

This'll mark the first time the three original Spyro the Dragon games (or their remakes) have been available on a Nintendo console. It's also the first time the little purple fella has led a game on a Nintendo console since 2008's The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon. Technically, Spyro appeared in Skylanders Imaginators back in 2016, but we don't count that. The Nintendo Switch version will allow players to experience Spyro's original adventures both in handheld mode and on their TV. Developer Toys for Bob is handling porting duties itself.

Never fear, PC gamers: Spyro Reignited Trilogy will also be coming to PC. Steam users can look forward to an uncapped framerate for everyone's favorite dragon, as well as support for 4K resolution. We're looking forward to seeing Spyro Reignited Trilogy's gorgeously realized worlds in 4K. This version of Spyro Reignited Trilogy is coming courtesy of Iron Galaxy, the studio that brought Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy to PC. If you're interested, you can wishlist the game on Steam right now.

Spyro Reignited Trilogy was originally released for PS4 and Xbox One in November last year. The game collects remakes of the three original PlayStation Spyro the Dragon games: Spyro the DragonSpyro 2: Ripto's Rage!, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon. To create the game, developer Toys for Bob worked closely with original Spyro developers Insomniac Games. We were pretty big fans of Spyro Reignited Trilogy, so to see it coming to new platforms is delightful. You'll be able to play the game on Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam when it launches for those platforms on September 3rd.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
