Today Kakao Games released a new trailer of its upcoming MMORPG Ares: Rise of Guardians.
The game is a sci-fi MMORPG officially announced last year and coming presumably to PC and mobile platforms "soon." It's developed by Second Dive, a Korean development studio in which Kakao invested heavily in 2020.
The trailer, narrated by a young lady named Rhea, provides a look at the world view (IE: the setting) of the game. It's in Korean, but it should be enough to glean some details.
The game itself involves action-based combat wearing battle suits you may consider similar to those we saw in Exoprimal or Anthem. There are four suits available, Hunter, Warlord, Warlock, and Engineer. Incidentally, Rhea is wearing an Engineer suit with its massive "Heavy Gauntlets."
You can watch the trailer below. In case you're not familiar with the game, you can check out a gameplay trailer and one featuring the suits from last year.
At the moment, we just know that pre-registrations for Ares: Age of Guardians are coming to the Korean market soon. We don't know whether Kakao intends to release the game in the West at any point in the future, and we'll have to wait and see whether this turns out to be notable or one of the many PC/mobile hybrid MMORPG crowding the local market that are dime a dozen and never go anywhere.
We'll keep you posted in case we hear more.
