A keen-eyed gamer has spotted what appears to be a Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC release based on an entry in Steam's backend combined with an earlier GeForce Now leak.
Sackboy: A Big Adventure was one of the many games announced during Sony's Future of Gaming event for the PS5. While it disappointed some fans with a lack of online co-op, there were many others who were nonetheless happy to see the hero of LittleBigPlanet return in a brand-new game. Now, new evidence has been uncovered which suggests that this game could be coming to Steam.
The Evidence for the Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC Release on Steam
The evidence for the Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC release on Steam was detailed on Reddit and it relies on two specific points of data: the name of a specific branch in the game's Depots and a codename.
Let's start with the branch: the SteamDB page in question is for a game that is code-named Steel PC. However, it lists "sumoqa" as one of the weekly builds under depots; this can be interpreted as "Sumo Digital Quality Assurance."
The stronger piece of evidence, however, relates to the mysterious GeForce Now leaks from earlier in the year. The Redditor who put forth this theory notes that the GeForce Now leak listed Sackboy: A Big Adventure as "Project Marmalade." Notably, one of the two Depots for Steel PC is titled "Marmalade Content."
Combine "Marmalade Content" with "sumoaqa" and one can come to the conclusion that a Sackboy: A Big Adventure PC release is on the way. If this is indeed Sackboy, it looks like it's been in the works for several months and has been gradually reaching milestones and receiving updates over the preceding weeks.
That said, there's no way of knowing what this is for certain. It's entirely possible that Steel PC is a separate project entirely and there's no real way to know for certain until this game (whatever it is) is revealed to the public.
