Sega has kept the character played in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth by popular Vtuber and YouTuber Kson a mystery, until now.
Today I played the demo of the game at Tokyo Game Show (of course, you can expect my full preview soon), and I met her.
Her name is Kei and she stands behind the counter at a bar in Honolulu named "Revolve Bar."
While we couldn't take pictures of the demo directly, Sega released its own gameplay recording, and luckily, it includes a quick glimpse of Kei, as you can see below.
Not only does Kei have Kson's likeness, but also her voice, albeit the demo only included brief soundbites and not full dialogue. You can hear her say "thank you" on the recording of Sega's livestream.
You can talk to her to order drinks and food, and to "ask about Aloha Links."
The second option lets you ask about friends in the city, link ups, animal friends, and friends in need.
The feature doesn't seem to be fully implemented in the demo and we don't really know whether Kei will play a bigger role in the full game.
Incidentally, the Revolve Bar is a hangout where Ichiban Kasuga, Kazuma Kiryu, and their friends gather. You can enjoy karaoke and play music on the jukebox.
If you want to compare, below you can see the real Kson among the other winners on the Like a Dragon Gaiden audition, albeit only Kson will also have a part in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth as she was the overall winner.
If you're unfamiliar with Kson and with why she is in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, she is a YouTuber and VTuber associated with VShojo, and one of the few VTubers who have revealed their real-world self.
Her YouTube channel has 1,25 million subscribers and she's a big fan of the Like a Dragon series.
As one of the five winners of the Like a Dragon Gaiden audition, she will also star as one of the girls working at the cabaret club in the game, but that differs from her role in Infinite Wealth, as it's a live-action role.
Her story is made even more significant by the fact that she's rumored to be the same person behind Hololive's VTuber Kiryu Coco.
That part of her career was interrupted as she was forced to retire due to a widespread harassment campaign by Chinese users and media after she mentioned Taiwan as its own country during one of her streams.
Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth will be released on January 26, 2024, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
