A new Payday 3 trailer has arrived, showcasing the game's expanded suite of stealth mechanics and tools. It looks like you can be a lot sneakier in your robbery methods this time around.

Rather simply titled "Stealth Gameplay Trailer", the new video shows players sneakily taking down guards, cracking glass cases containing valuables, and handing each other bags of cash without making a sound.

As the trailer opens, we see a gang of players making their way towards a heavily-guarded art gallery. Guards, laser grids, and other traps await our "heroes", but they're prepared, naturally.

Two members of the team sneak along upper walkways in order to breach the perimeter, while two others are on the ground. They take down guards with silenced pistols and chokeholds while the rooftop team penetrates the facility through a skylight.

Players can then be seen using a laser tool to crack open a glass case without triggering the alarm. Once the loot has been collected, the ground team passes it to the rooftop team through a skylight, after which the team escapes via zipline.

It's all pretty exciting stuff. We've already seen what can happen in Payday 3 when you're spotted and you have no choice but to enter open combat, but this new video makes stealth look like a seriously viable option. It remains to be seen whether this is the case for all of the game's heists, but I sure hope it is.

Payday 3 is, as you might imagine, the third game in the Payday series of co-operative multiplayer heist games. It's headed to PC and consoles in September and will feature new heists, new gameplay mechanics, and more.

You'll be able to play Payday 3 when it launches for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on September 21st. Stay tuned for more info on Starbreeze's upcoming title.
