Square Enix announced that the western version of its Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent mobile JRPG is finally getting the NieR: Automata collaboration.

The collaboration, which appeared in the Japanese version of the game about a year ago, will launch on the western version next week, with the update coming on March 22.

It features the popular androids 2B, 9S, and A2, and you can get 9S for free simply by playing the crossover. Their classes are Warrior for 2B, Merchant for 9S, and Thief for A2, and they come fully voiced with the voice actors you're used to in the original game.

You can see them in action in the trailer below.

While extremely late, this is certainly well timed with the renewed popularity provided to the game by the ongoing anime series, which isn't just highly appreciated by the fans, but it also sparked several collaborations in Japan, including one with the convenience store chain Lawson, one with a chain of public baths, and the pop-up stores at the Loft department stores.

Of course, these are just the latest of a long series, since Square Enix has been very keen on launching collaborations between NieR: Automata and basically everything else that exists, not that I'm complaining, more 2B is always good in my book.

Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent is currently available for iOS and Android.

NieR: Automata is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While we don't have specific information for now, its developers seem rather confident that another NieR game will be coming at some point.
