If you're a big NieR: Automata fan and you happen to be in Japan over the next month or so, you'll soon be able to bathe with your favorite androids... in a way.
The public bath and SPA brands Gokurakuyu and RAKU Spa have announced a collaboration with the ongoing NieR: Automata Ver1.1A anime inspired by the popular JRPG by Yoko Taro and PlatinumGames and it's rather interesting.
Between February 21, 2023, and March 21, 2023, you can enjoy a themed bath with different scents associated with one of the main characters of the game, 2B, A2, or 9S. The bath will also be decorated with panels featuring each character.
Do keep in mind that you can't choose the character on the spot as they will rotate by date. 2B's bath will be offered between February 21 and February 23 and Between March 9 and March 12. A2 will get her turn from March 2 and March 5 and from March 19 and March 21. 9S will be featured between February 24 and February 26, and between March 16 and March 18.
Here's what the decoration panels will look like, with the characters sporting the traditional yukata.
Upon entering you can request the NieR+ set in addition to the normal entrance fee and you'll receive a random limited collaboration poster featuring one of the three characters.
There will also be merchandise on sale with special items including acrylic stands, keychains, wooden straps, tin badges, Polaroid-style pictures, clear files, laundry bags, hand towels, canteens, T-shirts, and hair ties. For every 2,000 yen including taxes spent on merchandise, customers will also receive a random bookmark.
At the baths' cafeterias, you'll also find collaboration drinks, menus, and desserts inspired by 2B, A2, 9S, Commander White Operator 6O, and Operator 21O.
Each order will net you a random coaster and ordering food will also let you bring home a paper luncheon mat.
While this collaboration won't let you get into a hot tub with your favorite android in a physical sense (I imagine rust might be a problem), it's the next best thing for visiting fans.
If you're not able to visit Japan between February and March, at least you get to see 2B wearing a cute Yukata. You're welcome.
NieR: Automata is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. While we don't have specific information, its developers seem rather confident that another NieR game will be coming at some point.
