Bet you thought you'd never see the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl release date leaked by Nintendo, right? Well, that's exactly what's happened. A Nintendo eShop listing for the game reveals an early October release date, as well as what the cover image will look like.

When is the Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl release date?

If the eShop listing is to be believed, then we'll be able to get our hands on the upcoming Nickelodeon brawler on October 5th. Seeing as the game was originally announced in July this year, that's a pretty quick turnaround. We're assuming that the eShop listing is legit and that the release date is simultaneous for all platforms, but at the very least, Switch players will be able to check the game out this October. Exciting, right? In addition to the game's release date, the cover art was also revealed by Nintendo. You can check that out below.

What is Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl?

Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl is Nick's attempt to compete with Nintendo's world-conquering fighter Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. It's a multi-character brawler featuring a whole bunch of Nickelodeon favorites, including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' Leonardo, several characters from SpongeBob SquarePants, and more. Stages will consist of locations from and inspired by the Nick shows, and will include levels like SpongeBob's Jellyfish Field, TMNT's Technodrome, and others.

Lots of famous Nick characters, like Leonardo and Helga above, will duke it out in Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

At the moment, the roster consists of 16 announced characters, with the 2 latest (CatDog and Turtles' April O'Neil) revealed just a few days ago. It's fair to expect more characters to pad out the roster, although we have yet to discover whether any of our 7 hopefuls will actually make it into the game. At the very least, several of the flagship characters from Nick franchises haven't been announced yet; it would be unusual for Hey Arnold!'s Helga to be here, but not Arnold himself. In the meantime, here's every character that has been announced for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.

  • Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - Michelangelo, Leonardo, April O'Neil
  • SpongeBob SquarePants - SpongeBob, Sandy Cheeks, Patrick Star
  • The Loud House - Lucy Loud, Lincoln Loud
  • The Wild Thornberrys - Nigel Thornberry
  • Ren & Stimpy - Powdered Toast Man
  • Aaahh!!! Real Monsters - Oblina
  • Rugrats - Reptar
  • Invader Zim - Zim
  • Danny Phantom - Danny Phantom
  • CatDog - CatDog
  • Hey Arnold! - Helga

We'll have to wait and see exactly who else makes it into the game (although rumors have persistently place Legend of Korra's Korra, and fellow Avatar character Aang as part of the lineup). More character announcements are likely in the coming weeks. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl launches for PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch on October 5th.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
