Today publisher Anchor and developer NextNinja revealed a new character coming to their new mobile game Muv-Luv Dimensions, Mitsuki Hayase.
She will be an SSR character released to celebrate the new chapters coming to the Muv-Luv Alternative visual novel available in the game's Probability Space-time feature. Those familiar with the visual novel likely know which chapters I'm talking about as they focus on Mitsuki.
Her dedicated gacha will be available from August 10 to August 24 and she's a melee-focused pilot with some pretty crazy skills.
Her Active Skill, Five-fold Tiger Claw Strike deals up to 4500% melee damage in its area of effect and increases the TSF melee damage and skill damage by 30% for 20 seconds.
Her Passive Skill, aptly named Storm Vanguard permanently increases melee damage and movement speed by up to 20%.
Her Ex-Passive Skill is Super Evasion Rate UP, permanently increasing evasion by up to 20% when she's set as support. Basically, she's a beast (but an adorable one).
If you're unfamiliar with Mitsuki Hayase, she debuted as one of the main heroines in Âge's visual novel Kimi Ga Nozomu Eien (also known as Rumbling Hearts), and then returned in Muv-Luv Alternative. She remains one of the most beloved characters of the franchise, especially by yours truly.

If you aren't familiar with Muv-Luv Dimensions, it's a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android built on the popular Muv-Luv visual novel series, while featuring a completely different storyline with the same characters. That being said, it includes the original trilogy as an unlockable bonus.
The summer special event is currently active, with plenty of SSR and SR pilots wearing swimsuits.

For the moment, the game has been announced only for Japan. But hopefully, an English version will come down the line.
The series is widely recognized as one of the best (if not the best) visual novel franchises of all time and one of the first isekai stories that had a strong influence on Japanese pop culture when the genre was still young. It mixes a tragic and romantic story with one of the best and deepest sci-fi worlds to date. It's so relevant that Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama has cited it multiple times as one of his main sources of inspiration.
Most Muv-Luv visual novels are available in English on Steam (while Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative have also been released on PS Vita) alongside the early access action game Project MIKHAIL: A Muv-Luv War Story.
