Publisher Anchor and developer NextNinja announced a small delay and a release date for the upcoming Muv-Luv mobile game Muv-Luv Dimensions.

The game was supposed to launch in Japan by the end of June, but according to the announcement, it'll now release on July 11, 2023, in order to improve the quality, fix bugs, and prepare for future in-game events and promotions.

We also learn that the number of pre-registrations has passed 250,000, unlocking a bonus TSF gacha roll in the ongoing campaign. On top of that, on July 6 the developers will host a livestream with the reveal of new information about the game and promotion plans for the future.

Last, but not least, to celebrate today's birthday of Lise Hohenstein, we get to see her new character design, which you can see below. If you're unfamiliar with her, she's one of the heroines of the prequel Schwarzesmarken, which is one of the best Muv-Luv visual novels, albeit it hasn't been localized yet.

Muv-Luv Dimensions Lise Hohenstein

If you aren't familiar with Muv-Luv Dimensions, it's a free-to-play mobile game for iOS and Android based on the popular Muv-Luv visual novel series. It was originally released last year as Muv-Luv Immortals, but it was affected by significant problems and immediately withdrawn. Publisher aNCHOR decided to completely overhaul the game bringing in seasoned mobile developer NextNinja, which is now preparing for a full relaunch.

If you'd like to see more, recently we saw character trailers for Mana Tsukuyomi, Marimo JinguujiIlfriede von FeulnerYui TakamuraTakatsugu Ikaruga, and Chizuru Sakaki on top of a TV commercial. For now, the game has been announced only for Japan. But hopefully, aNCHOR and NextNinja will release it in English as well down the line.

The franchise is widely considered one of the best (if not the best) visual novel series of all time and one of the first isekai stories that made waves within Japanese pop culture when the genre wasn't as oversaturated as it is now. It mixes a tragic and romantic story with one of the best and deepest sci-fi worlds ever written. It's so influential that Attack on Titan mangaka Hajime Isayama cited it multiple times as one of his main sources of inspiration. +

Most Muv-Luv visual novels are currently available in English on Steam (while Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative have also been released on PS Vita) alongside the early access action game Project MIKHAIL: A Muv-Luv War Story.

Recently, we also saw the release of volume 2 of the Muv-Luv Regenerative magazine on Steam, delving deeper into the world of the franchise, while a few spiffy plastic model kits have been announced.
