Today Insomniac Games announced that its upcoming PS5-exclusive title Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is getting the customary day one patch.
The update, numbered 1.001.002, brings a number of improvements, especially to the initial parts of the game, so it's advisable to install it for those who purchased the disk version of the game. There are also some new accessibility options on the menu.
Those who got it digitally won't need to worry, as the update will be installed automatically with the version of the game that is already available for pre-load.

Hey everyone —
On October 20, you'll finally experience Marvel's Spider-Man 2 and we couldn't be more excited! Since going gold, our team made notable enhancements to Marvel's #SpiderMan2PS5 that we'd love for you to experience from the very beginning.
The disc contains the entire game and is playable from start to finish with no patch or online requirement. But for the best experience, we highly encourage physical/disc-based players to download update Version 1.001.002 on launch day — prior to experiencing the opening mission of the game for the first time.
Digital players - don't worry, if you pre-load the digital version of the game, you'll get 1.001.002 as your pre-loaded version.
This update features polish to the gold master version of Marvel's Spider-Man 2 available on disc, which improves the opening sections of the game and includes other general refinements to your Spidey experience, including some additional Accessibility Options.

Looks like it's definitely worth getting the game patched up.
Our Andrew Stretch, who wrote the review, came out of his time with Marvel's Spider-Man 2 definitely impressed, awarding it a rather triumphant 9.5 out of ten, praising the new and improved traversal options, the surprising story beats, the dense worlds, and some nice segments starring Mary Jane Watson.
Marvel's Spider-Man 2 will release on October 20 exclusively for PS5. Incidentally, since suits are a big deal, you can check out a couple of really interesting ones by popular Marvel artists, while famous pop star Rina Sawayama is working on her own original design.
