Resident Evil Village Mercenaries will have a ton of new additions this fall, with Lady Dimitrescu, Lord Karl Heisenberg, and Chris Redfield all being added and looking a ton of fun to play in the Resident Evil Village Winters' Expansion. It will release on Oct. 28, 2022 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, and Stadia, with pre-orders starting up today for $19.99. There's a lot to go over, so let's hop to it, shall we?
What's being added in the Resident Evil Village DLC?
The three aforementioned characters will be joining Ethan Winters in the bolstered Resident Evil Village Mercenaries mode. Lady Dimitrescu is controllable for the first time, and will be able to use her nine-foot frame to slice and dice her way through Lycans and anyone else unfortunate enough to get in her way. As she fights, she builds up a Thrill meter that will allow her to perform special actions, like slamming down enemies or summoning her daughters.
Lord Karl Heisenberg has electric powers that may prove... ahem... shocking to his enemies. He uses a massive hammer and can call in his Soldat Jets to help him out. While they will prove useful, be sure to mind his creations' blast zone so they don't bring Heisenberg down with them. He can also throw saw blades his enemies' way, which looks and sounds pretty gruesome.
Chris Redfield will build up his Onslaught gauge during combat, and when it's built up he will move and reload much faster. Chris can also call for support from the Hound Wolf Squad and call in missile strikes using his target locator.
Two new stages are also being added to the experience, with Bloody Village and Bloody River promising to be a bloody good time if you're into that kind of thing.
What else is the Resident Evil Village Winters' DLC all about?
As for other additions to the Winters' DLC, players will be able to play the game in third person mode in the campaign. There's also a new scenario called Shadows of Rose that stars a grown-up Rose, whose kidnapping started off the original Village story.
If this sounds great to you, the pre-order for the Winters' Expansion will give players the Street Wolf Outfit for Rose. This Village DLC will also be made available for Resident Evil Village Gold Edition owners, so you won't have to purchase the DLC twice over to get the outfit. For those wondering what exactly Resident Evil Village Gold Edition is, it adds in Resident Evil Village, the Winters' Expansion, and the Trauma Pack DLC (which brings a whole bunch of fun items and extras) together so newcomers can get the full experience while Capcom can sell the game again at full price. Win/win, eh?
