Hi-Fi Rush Is Coming to PS5

Today the Latin American arm of Bethesda itself leaked the announcement of the port of Tango Gameworks' Hi-Fi Rush for PS5.

According to a trailer released on the official local channel of the developer and then quickly made private, the game will launch on  Sony's console on March 18.

Update: Microsoft announced officially that the game is coming to PS5 on March 19 (the March 19 date for the Latin American market is likely due to the time zones). Pre-orders are available today on the PlayStation Store.

This follows the announcement for Nintendo Switch of Grounded and Pentiment by Obsidian Entertainment. Interestingly, neither Microsoft nor Obsidian have followed up with an announcement of the games for PS5 at the moment of this writing.

For now, we don't know exactly what happening, but Microsoft may have opted to spread its games going multiplatform to different platforms instead of releasing everything everywhere. We reached out to Xbox to see if we can get any further clarity on this.

A fourth game that Microsoft has teased remains unaccounted for, and we'll likely learn more at a later date. It's supposed to be a community-driven game and my money is on Rare's Sea of Thieves, but for now, nothing official has been shared.

You can watch the trailer below.

If you're unfamiliar with Hi-Fi Rush, it's currently available for Xbox Series X|S and PC, on top of the inevitable game pass. It was announced and immediately released during Microsoft's Developer Direct livestream back in January 2023, marking a radical departure from the dark themes that many expected from Tango Gameworks, which is famous for horror games like The Evil Withinits sequel, and Ghostwire: Tokyo

The game has achieved 3 million players as of August 2023. If you'd like to learn more, you can check out our review, which awarded Tango Gameworks' upbeat title with an enthusiastic 8.5 out of 10.
