The developers at Awaceb have released even more behind-the-scenes footage on their upcoming open-world exploration title, Tchia, which is set to release in Spring 2023.
This game gives off a one-of-a-kind feel, meaning that it isn't just a vast world thrown together using an engine and hoping for things to look good together. The two childhood friends made this game based on real locations in their homeland to give Tchia an authentic and realistic feel. The tropical adventure allows players to uncover the secrets held within the ocean or "become one with nature" as they make their way through the trees.
The developers have released a small series showcasing gameplay, where they came up with the ideas, and behind-the-scenes footage for players to understand their reasoning behind each new addition brought to Tchia. Fans get to see the two friends roaming their birthplace of New Caledonia, taking in inspiration from the world around them to create something of worth to them. This is refreshing in itself, as usually, we as fans do not get a chance to see why or how developers choose what to implement in their gameplay.
Though most of the gameplay is relaxing and carefree, don't let the serene surroundings fool you. There is always calm before the storm, and Tchia is no different. The lands have been plagued with strange fabric creatures known as Maano. These creatures have now kidnapped her father, and it is up to us as the player to guide the heroine in the right direction to save her father from their evil clutches. Utilizing the world around us, we must find ways to craft tools and even parachutes in order to stop the Maano once and for all.
Tchia is set to release sometime in the Spring of 2023, and will be available on PC via Steam, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
