Space shooter-come-RPG Everspace 2 has been in development for five years and on release in Early Access for more than two, but we finally know when it's arriving in full. The Everspace 2 release date has been unveiled as April 6th for PC, with a release for consoles to follow later this year.
In a new trailer, developer Rockfish Games reveals the release date and teases the story for Everspace 2, which revolves around a clone pilot named Adam. As Adam, you must navigate the DMZ, a war-torn star system full of battling factions, secrets to uncover, and puzzles to solve. You can check out the new Everspace 2 release date trailer right here.
The trailer's comic book-style cutscenes show Adam meeting varioous characters and exploring the world of Everspace 2. It also shows off some pretty impressive-looking gameplay featuring spaceships soaring over barren desert planets and lush, verdant landscapes, as well as pitched laser battles between different factions. If you're a fan of games like Chorus (or Chorvs) and, well, the first Everspace, it looks like you'll get on with this one too.
Everspace 2 was originally released in Early Access for PC back in January 2021, after moving its release date in order to avoid clashing with Cyberpunk 2077. Since then, the story-driven RPG shooter has received updates which have added features like new star systems, new companions to meet, and much more besides.
You can check out Everspace 2 right now on PC via Steam, GOG.com, and the Microsoft Store. It's currently in Early Access. Rockfish's shooter is also coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in the summer, although we don't have a specific release date for the console versions of the game as yet. Stay tuned to TechRaptor for more info about that and all things Everspace 2.
