The Everspace 2 roadmap for Early Access has been revealed, and with it comes star systems, player ships, companions, and other gameplay features in the months to come. These gameplay features include fast travel, activities, and story content over the course of this year. Check out the blurb below:
“While we absolutely took inspiration from various iconic space combat and looter RPGs, we also want to create something new with EVERSPACE 2 that stands for its own, especially within the space combat & exploration genre," said Michael Schade, CEO & co-founder of ROCKFISH Games. "Of course, EVERSPACE 2 is far from being finished, but with most of its gameplay mechanics already in place and with 92% positive out of 1700+ reviews, we think we are off to a good start and look forward to shaping our creative vision together with our community over the next 18ish months. A big part of our ongoing plan is to continue our weekly live streams on Twitch and YouTube so that space game enthusiasts interested in our game can make an educated purchase decision or ask specific questions in chat to me and other members of our development team directly.”
For this April, there will be a storyline update as well as new missions. For this Summer there will be a new system, Zharkov, which includes new enemy types and natural phenomena. There will also be an increased leveling cap. For this Fall there's a new Fighter Subclass that includes a Light and Heavy Fighter added to the game, as well as a new system called Khait Nebula that will also add new enemy types and natural phenomena.
The inclusion of the storyline updates are interesting in that they originally weren't intended to exist. The cliffhanger ending was supposed to be just that, a cliffhanger ending. Instead, enough players have raised a ruckus so that the devs are now adding more storyline content to the game, which is pretty neat.
