Mass Effect Collaboration in Destiny 2

Today Bungie announced new crossover items coming to Destiny 2, and they're from another super-popular sci-fi IP, BioWare's Mass Effect

According to the announcement made on X (formerly Twitter), the items will be released in Bungie's game-as-a-service on February 13.

The bundle, titled "Alliance Requisition Bundle" will include gear inspired by iconic Mass Effect characters Commander Shepard, Garrus Vakarian, and Liara T'Soni.

In the meanwhile, fans are waiting to hear more about the new Mass Effect game.

That being said, you don't need to purchase anything to get something out of the collaboration. Every player will get the Enhanced Defense Ghost Shell, Alliance Scout Frigate Ship, and the Alliance Drop Ship Sparrow items for free.

Update 2/13/2024: the items have been released in the game and you can see what they look like in the trailer below.

Destiny 2 is currently available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. Fans are currently waiting for the next expansion titled The Final Shape, which has been delayed to June 4 from its previous February 27 release date with the promise to "deliver an even bigger and bolder vision."

This followed one of the industry's most controversial recent layoffs, as Bungie terminated about 100 employees allegedly due to poor sales performance of its live game.

Speaking of waiting, Mass Effect fans will have to wait even longer to get another game. At the moment, we only have small teases about the next chapter of the popular saga, which fell from grace among many fans following the much-discussed release of Mass Effect Andromeda in 2017, due to the game failing to meet expectations and receiving a mediocre welcome from public and critics.

Since then, we have been waiting for BioWare to find its footing once again and bring the series back. We have seen a few hints of what is to come, but for the moment, we don't know very much about the game. We do know that it isn't coming anytime soon. For now, gear in Destiny 2 is all we get to help with the wait.
