PC gamers are just a few days away from playing Bungie’s sci-fi loot shooter Destiny 2, nearly two months after the console release. The developers have made a couple announcements about the PC version, detailing what to expect in the next few weeks as well as some known issues that can appear on day one.
Servers will go live on October 24 at 10 a.m. Pacific and 1 p.m. Eastern, and the game can be downloaded and played through Blizzard’s Battle.net launcher. Vicarious Visions worked with Bungie to bring Destiny 2 to the PC, which is loaded with graphics options to mess with and reach 60 FPS. The game will launch with the Nightfall Strike on Normal and Prestige modes, and on November 1, the Leviathan raid on normal mode drops. November 3 marks the release of the Trials of the Nine, a weekly competitive multiplayer mode. Finally, on November 7, the prestige mode of the Leviathan raid goes live.
The game won’t launch without its fair share of errors, however. There’s already a hotfix detailed that deals with “several issues, including an issue which resulted in the erroneous removal of Raid Keys from players' inventories.” The quick patch doesn’t fix everything, as there’s still a lengthy list of known issues with the release build, some of which are codenamed Saxophone and Buffalo. Other errors include not being able to quit the game with controllers, an inability to bind actions to most number pad keys, and the Windows 10 game bar possibly not working in fullscreen. In our review of the console version of Destiny 2, we gave it an 8.0 and called it a “truly worthy sequel.” The game had an open beta on PC at the end of August, giving players a taste of what was to come.
