The Destiny 2 Bungie 30th Anniversary Event is here, celebrating three decades of iconic games such as Marathon and Oni with cool new cosmetics.

Destiny 2 has a lot of great content on the way. Aside from a bunch of cool things in The Witch Queen, Bungie has laid out plans to soft-launch an anti-cheat system and debut new PVP modes and maps in upcoming seasons. Of course, it also has time to occasionally cook up some silly, fun content, and a fresh batch has just arrived -- get ready to meet Starhorse.

What is the Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Event?

The Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Event will take players to the realm of the Nine, a strange area that often defies logic. Happily, this innate weirdness also allows Bungie to bend the rules of believability a bit and introduce some fun weird content to the game.

During this event, Xur will be chilling within the realm with his new friend Starhorse (which, to be clear, is a horse made of stars). He also happens to have a big ol' spinny wheel with five icons on it; each of these icons represents a unique Dare for a group of six matchmade players to complete.

Should you succeed, you'll score some cool content that honors older Bungie games such as the Myth Claymore (representing Myth) and the Marathon armor ornament set (which, naturally, represents Bungie's first shooter Marathon).

However, free players will only have a limited selection of items available to them; those of you who are looking to collect everything will have to pick up the Destiny 2 Bungie 30th Anniversary Pack at the price of $24.99 or your regional equivalent. You can join in the fun right now by playing Destiny 2 for free on PC, consoles, and Stadia via its official website.

What do you think of the new content added for the Destiny 2: Bungie 30th Anniversary Event? Do you think that Bungie should do more silly content like this in future Destiny 2 updates? Let us know in the comments below!
