A new Deliver Us Mars trailer has been released ahead of the game's impending release in early February. The trailer gives us an idea of what we can expect from the story, which promises suspense and emotion in spades, as well as showing off some of the exploration-heavy gameplay.

The aptly-named "Countdown to Launch" trailer is styled like a Hollywood teaser, showing various scenes from the game's story and setting up Kathy Johanson's reason to journey to Mars. She's searching for Ark colony ships, which have been stolen by a force known as the "Outward", but there might be a little more to it than that in personal terms as well. You can take a look at the new trailer right here.

In the trailer, we see Kathy's father, Isaac, who abandoned her many years prior to the events of Deliver Us Mars. There's a chance the distress signal Kathy is following may involve her father, though, so she's got a little more invested in this journey than just the fate of humanity. No pressure, Kathy.

As well as the story, the trailer also shows some of Deliver Us Mars' exploration, which will see Kathy leaping across chasms, climbing sheer rock faces, and dodging environmental hazards as she searches for the source of the aforementioned distress call. It looks like there's a little more to this one than your standard "narrative adventure" trappings.

Deliver Us Mars is the followup to 2018's Deliver Us the Moon. It revolves around Kathy Johanson, who's mentioned in the first game, as she boards a spacecraft called the Zephyr in search of a distress call. The game will offer exploration, puzzle segments, and an emotionally charged narrative, as well as "state-of-the-art motion capture" from actors like Poldark's Ellise Chappell.

Keoken Interactive's newest sci-fi adventure is slated to land on PC and consoles on February 2nd, after being delayed last year in order to accommodate additional development time. You can wishlist the game on Steam if you're a PC player, and it's also available on the Epic Games Store. Console-wise, Deliver Us Mars is set to make landfall on PlayStation consoles and Xbox platforms, with no word on a Switch release.
