If you've been hoping for some Hideo Kojima in your future but you didn't own a PlayStation 4, then there's some good news. It has just been announced that Death Stranding will be coming to PC after its console launch.
If Death Stranding was going to remain a PlayStation 4 exclusive or not is one of those things that has always been in question. On one hand, with Sony bankrolling the game and the original announcement, it seemed like Death Stranding would be spending most of its life on the PlayStation 4. On the other hand, when Death Stranding was originally announced it was planned for a PC release before the reference to PC versions was quietly removed and it wasn't really brought up much again. So this move could either be a complete surprise or totally expected, depending on what you remember. The good news is that more people will get a chance to play the game and that is what's most important.
As for other details, we know that Death Stranding will be coming to PC in "early summer 2020," with no further date than that. We also know that 505 Games will be handling the publishing of the PC version. There's currently no word as if Death Stranding will also be exclusive to a single service. 505 Games did recently put out Control as an Epic Game Store exclusive but also put out Indivisible on all storefronts. It's debatable if it would be very Strand Game of Kojima to restrict Death Stranding to a single service.
Death Stranding will be launching on November 8th, 2019, on PlayStation 4, with a PC version following in 2020.
