In that trailer, we see the tone of the tone and what the reveal event would continue to emphasize. After showing the trailer there was a short documentary shown with some of the Sledgehammer Games team which introduced some of the people there. A few phrases stood out there and shortly after that they appear to be focusing on: "go back to our roots", "boots on the ground", "historically authentic" and "intense bonds of brotherhood".
In the game you play as Private Red Daniels, a soldier new to the first infantry, called the Bloody First and is new to the war when the game begins. Call of Duty: WWII will only be taking place in the European Theatre and will weave in and out of historical events. To help create accuracy in those historical events they had a historian available for consulting in World War 2 historian Morty Morgan who has been on the game for 2 years. The team also emphasized that they visited locations to get a feel for them, and recorded video footage as well as sounds there to be more accurate, as well as going over works and historical pieces.
In the event, they also revealed that before it launches, that to no one's surprise Call of Duty: WWII will have a multiplayer beta before release, although there is little information on this right now. We do also know that those who preorder the game will have access to the beta for sure and that the beta will last a minimum of three days. While Sledgehammer was coy about multiplayer details in general, they did give a few tantalizing details about a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode called War which has Ally vs Axis with different maps arranged differently. In war, you are fighting for objectives depending on what team you're on. Divisions will let you go through playing as a division such as infantry and fight against other divisions. Finally, they said that they are working on a Headquarters set up, where players can interact between matches in the game and talk.
The reveals came to a close with a confirmation that there would be a Zombie mode in Call of Duty: WWII, which Sledgehammer Games referred to as a horror game. From the way they spoke about it, it will be a co-operative mode and will be in the final days of the war where the Third Reich is desperately trying to create an army. They closed that off with what exactly a Nazi Zombie might just look like.
