Today Bandai Namco hosted an extensive livestream about its MMORPG Blue Protocol, which is already available in Japan.
First of all, we get to see the first gameplay trailer of the Blast Lancer class, which will be the 5th included in the game and will launch with an update on August 23. It's a highly mobile damage dealer that is also capable of marking targets.
You can see the class in action below and check out more footage on the livestream itself.
That being said, before we get the Blitz Lancer, the game's first major update is launching on July 12, and it includes the "Tropical Resort" gameplay event. It'll include a dedicated summer resort, fireworks, themed goodies, and the inevitable swimsuits for both male and female characters available in the gacha.
You can see them in the gallery below and gameplay footage in the recording of the livestream. On top of that, the livestream also showcased the introduction of a forest area where it always rains that will be available for free exploration. You can check it out on YouTube and it'll also come with the update on July 12.
If you're unfamiliar with Blue Protocol, it's a free-to-play anime-style MMORPG with a business model focusing on battle passes and cosmetics also available via gacha. It's already available in Japan for PC. The western release was announced in December 2022 during The Game Awards and is coming in 2024 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S following a recent delay. It will be published by Amazon Games, which is planning a PC beta for 2023.
While we wait, you can enjoy the impressive character creation and benchmark software, some more recent gameplay and details, and the opening cutscene featuring the song "Mirai" by the popular Japanese band L'Arc-en-Ciel.
