After the successful release of Baldur's Gate 3 on PC, Larian Studios is preparing to launch on PS5 and revealed the preload dates.
As mentioned on X (previously Twitter) the PlayStation 5 version of the game will have different preload dates depending on the edition you purchased and whether you're eligible for early access.
If you're getting the digital deluxe edition, you'll be able to preload the game on August 31 at 16:00 UTC, which translates into 9:00 a.m. PDT, Noon EDT, 5:00 p.m. BST, or 6:00 p.m. CEST, depending on where you live.
This gives you plenty of time to download the big package (it was over 100 GB on PC) ahead of the early access launch on September 4, also at 16:00 UTC.,
If you're getting the standard edition, everything is shifted by three days, with preloads starting on September 2 at 16:00 UTC and release on September 6, at 16:00 UTC.
Do keep in mind that Larian has clarified that the game isn't exclusive to Sony's console and an Xbox version is coming. Yet, it won't be released until some technical hurdles are overcome, which may take some time.
If you'd like to see plenty of gameplay of Baldur's Gate 3 to whet your appetite, you can take a look at the launch trailer, previous gameplay including a rather... intimate and beastly encounter, a trailer mostly focusing on romance, and another trailer and footage from the PC Gaming Show.
