Today Koei Tecmo and Gust released a brand new trailer of the upcoming JRPG Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & Secret Key.
The trailer shows the opening cutscene of the game, featuring all the characters that we'll be able to include in our party in action. This includes pretty much everyone from the first two games plus quite a few new faces.
We also get to hear the theme song "Ano Natsu no Kakurega" which translates into "That Summer Hideout" and is an obvious homage to the first title, Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout. It's performed by reche.
The whole video certainly feels nostalgic and might awaken feelings among the fans of the series. It fits the theme of this being Ryza's last summer, or at least the last summer of her adventuring youth. You can check it out below.
Atelier Ryza 3: Alchemist of the End & Secret Key was announced at Tokyo Game Show 2022 and is the sequel of Atelier Ryza 2: Lost Legends & the Secret Fairy, originally released between the end of 2020 and the beginning of 2021 across Japan and the west. It's the ending of the first trilogy in the Atelier series to retain the same protagonist across all three games, since Atelier Ryza: Ever Darkness & the Secret Hideout launched in 2019. This is certainly a testament to Ryza's popularity, also thanks to the charming character design by Toridamono.
The game will release for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC on March 24, 2023, following a recent delay by a month to further improve quality, which isn't really uncommon nowadays.
