New details have been revealed for Apex Legends Season 11. In just a few short weeks, we'll be able to play as Apex Legends' new Legend Ash -- a face that will be very familiar to Arenas players.
It's been a rough few weeks for Apex Legends players (and the developers, too). The planned removal of tap-strafing was delayed, the servers suffered some annoying problems during the Evolution LTE, and Respawn accidentally awarded incorrect items to players (who were later compensated for the mix-up). Despite these challenges, development on Season 11 continued apace -- and now we're getting our first look at the next Legend.
You Already Know Apex Legends' New Legend Ash
Apex Legends' new Legend Ash will be a familiar face to players of the game -- she's the face of the Arenas game mode. Ash is known for berating the player for failing or cautiously praising them should they succeed in battle.
There were slight hints about Apex Legends' New Legend Ash as long as a month ago; a major milestone in Season 10 also happened to include a model change for Ash. We now know that that model change was likely done to fit the design for the new Legend.
Ash isn't a regular ol' person, though. This master of the Arenas is a "simulacrum" -- that is to say, an A.I. based on the brain patterns of a living person -- similar to Revenant. That would explain her ability to run Arenas matches while participating in the games themselves.
New Apex Legends Gun 'C.A.R. SMG' Teased
Unfortunately, we don't yet know much about the new Legend Ash aside from the teaser trailer shown above. We did, however, get a sneak peek at a new Apex Legends gun debuting in Season 11 called the C.A.R. SMG.
The C.A.R. SMG looks a little chunkier compared to some of the other guns in the roster. We don't know much about the gun other than the fact that it's billed as a "flexible weapon," possibly implying that it has alternate fire modes and/or the capability to use Hop-Ups.
We also don't know what kind of ammo it could use. We already have an SMG in the Light Ammo, Heavy Ammo, Energy, and Care Package categories, so it's possible that it could somehow be in the Sniper category. However, Apex Legends does have duplicate guns sharing the same ammo type (such as the VK-47 Flatline and the Hemlok Burst AR), so it's just as likely that it will be one of those ammo types.
When is the Apex Legends Season 11 'Escape' Start Date?
The Apex Legends Season 11 "Escape" Start Date will be November 2, 2021, according to a press release from EA. As always, the update will simultaneously launch on PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
For now, you can read more details about Apex Legends Season 11 on the update's official page; you can look forward to the Escape Launch Trailer dropping later this week on October 21, 2021. If you haven't yet jumped into the game, you can play Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles via its official website and enjoy the last couple of weeks of Season 10.
