A recent Apex Legends bug erroneously gave players platform-exclusive items which were subsequently removed. Now, Respawn Entertainment will be compensating affected players for the problem.

A cryptic tweet from Respawn last week ignited speculation about a new Titanfall game. Around the same time, a bug had accidentally given platform-exclusive items to players in Apex Packs. This was a mistake and the items were removed by Respawn Entertainment, but these players are not being left high and dry.

"Last week, some @playapex players accidentally received platform exclusive items in Apex Packs which were then removed from their accounts," read a tweet from Respawn Entertainment, "We've fixed the underlying bug and if you were impacted, we've rewarded you 1 Apex Pack per 3 items removed, rounded up. Sorry about that!"

Also New: Apex Legends Apex Chronicles Event

Apex Legends item bug aside, a new event has also debuted for Season 10: the Apex Legends Apex Chronicles Event is here -- and it's a little unusual.

The Apex Legends Apex Chronicles event is a new type of "bit-sized story event" that will further expand the in-game narrative. The first of these events is Old Ways, New Dawn which focuses on Bloodhound. Players must select Bloodhound, hop into a non-ranked Battle Royale game, and look for a white raven (seen above) to trigger the multi-part event.

This event will have you running all over the map to complete multiple objectives. One might wonder about doing something like this, you know, in the middle of a Battle Royale match, but Respawn has that covered -- each Bloodhound in the game will be assigned a different path to minimize crossover. And if you can't complete the event in one go, you'll be able to pick things up from a checkpoint in a subsequent match. Let's just hope the server problems from earlier this month won't be an issue any longer.

Old Ways, New Dawn is live now, so go ahead and check out it! You can play Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles via its official website. You might want to get into the game sooner rather than later: the days of tap-strafing will soon be over.
