Today Remedy Entertainment released another behind-the-scenes video for its upcoming survival horror game Alan Wake 2.
The video focuses on storytelling, with developers from Remedy talking about the original Alan Wake game. We also hear from the developer's point of view about the official reveal of the game.
We also hear about the importance of world-building and making the story and experience playable and not just told to the player.
Sam Lake himself mentions that Remedy has created a variety of concepts for Alan Wake 2 in-between work on other games. It has been frustrating, over the years, not to be able to immediately work on it. Yet, the game is "by far the most exciting, the most interesting, and ambitious among these original concepts" and he's really, really happy about it.

Alan Wake 2 will release exclusively digitally on October 17 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. The release date was revealed during the latest PlayStation Showcase alongside a trailer. Alan Wake 2 is the direct sequel of Remedy Entertainment's critically acclaimed and fan-beloved Alan Wake, originally released all the way back in 2010 and semi-recently remastered in 2021.
