Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest continues, with Sam Lake of Remedy taking the stage to talk about the upcoming Alan Wake 2. Talking about how the new character Saga Anderson will make up 50% of the gameplay, along with Alan making up the other half of the Alan Wake 2 gameplay.
It is set to be a standalone experience, and it works through Saga coming across abandoned work by the eponymous Alan Wake. She knows nothing of the lore before, and after you start going you can hop between Saga in the Pacific Northwest, and Alan Wake in the Dark Place. You can hop back and forth sequentially, or play through almost all of one path before doing the other character's gameplay.
The gameplay showcased Saga outside of Pride Falls when the supernatural comes to bump in the night with nothing but her flashlight and service pistol. She wanders through the woods into a general store in the woods when she is startled by a deer... before the back wall is collapsed by a cultist monster that she manages to take out and then examines the area he opened up. We see that the gameplay features points of interest that Saga can examine and when looking at items getting more details about the items there. Look at all the Alan Wake 2 gameplay here:
As previously announced Alan Wake 2 will release on October 17th for PC, Xbox Series X\S, and PlayStation 5.
