Fallout 76 refunds will now be processed in Australia in certain situations following customer complaints filed to the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission.

The ACC has put out a press release on the subject of Fallout 76 refunds for Australians. In it, they state that Zenimax has acknowledged that they were likely to have misled consumers about their rights in relation to getting a refund. The ACCC had received complaints that Zenimax representatives had told customers that they were not entitled to refunds after they had complained about various issues with the game including server troubles, lag, and graphical problems.

However, this statement was not in line with the rights actually afforded to Australian consumers. As a result, Zenimax will be going forward with making refunds available to customers in the country, although there are a few conditions as to who can get them and when.

Who Can Get Fallout 76 Refunds

Refunds will be offered to Australian customers who contacted Zenimax between November 24, 2018, and June 1, 2019, seeking a refund but ultimately failing to get one, Obviously, players who take Zenimax up on this offer will forfeit their ability to be able to play the game.

ACCC Commission Sarah Court had a lot to say on the matter after this resolution was put in place.

"When a consumer buys a product it comes with automatic consumer guarantees, and retailers must ensure their refunds and returns policies do not misrepresent what the Australian Consumer Law provides," Ms. Court said in the press release.

“When a consumer has purchased a product that has a fault which amounts to a major failure, the Australian Consumer Law provides them with the right to ask for their choice of either a repair, replacement or refund," she added.

Zenimax has also taken steps to ensure that these mistakes will not be repeated again in future. Interested parties can read more about their undertaking at the ACCC website.
