The Classes of Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor are just as varied as the Biomes of Hoxxes IV. They're thematically similar to the Classes of Deep Rock Galactic, but there are notable changes to suit the Auto Shooter genre. Read on to learn more!
How Classes and Class Mods Work in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor
There are a total of four Classes in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor, just like in Deep Rock Galactic: Scout, Gunner, Engineer, and Driller. Each Class has its own unique Weapons and specialties.
Class Mods, in comparison, can modify existing Classes in interesting ways. These Class Mods can change the available Weapons or special abilities for each Class.
How to Unlock More Classes and Class Mods
You can unlock more Classes by increasing your Player Rank. Player Rank is increased as you play through the game.
Class Mods, in comparison, are unlocked by leveling up that specific Class. You can find the specific points where you'll unlock Class Mods in the "Classes" tab of the Milestones menu.
Deep Rock Galactic Survivor Classes
Here are all of the Classes and Class Mods in Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor currently:
Scout
The Scout focuses on fast movement and dodging. It's the first Class available when you begin playing the game.
Scout Weapons (Default)
These are the default/unlockable Scout weapons available in Deep Rock Galactic Survival:
- Arc-Tek Cryo Guard
- Cryo Grenade
- Deepcore GK2
- Jury-Rigged Boomstick
- M1000 Classic
- Nishanka Boltshark X-80
- TH-0R Bug Taser
- Voltaic Stun Sweeper
- Zhukov NUK17.
The Recon Scout has additional weapons from other classes available, see below.
Classic Scout
- Unlocked: Default Unlock
- Starting Weapon: Deepcore GK2
- +10% Move Speed
- +20 Max HP
- Classic Scout Available Weapons: Only default Scout Weapons
The Classic is the first playable dwarf available.
Recon Scout
- Unlocked: Scout Class Rank 9
- Starting Weapon: Zhukov NUK17
- +25% Dodge
- When dodging enemy damage:
- +35% Move Speed for 5 seconds
- +35% Reload Speed for 5 seconds
- Gives access to [LIGHT] weapons
- Recon Scout Available Weapons: Default Scout Weapons + Subata 120, Experimental Plasma Charger, "Stubby" Voltaic SMG, and BR17 Burst Fire Gun
The Recon strongly focuses on dodging. The Zhukov NUK17 and the Dodge bonus make the Recon excel at pushing through crowds and doing damage while avoiding enemy attacks.
Sharp Shooter
- Unlocked: Scout Class Rank 18
- Starting Weapon: M1000 Classic
- +15% Critical Chance
- +15% Critical Damage
- Sharp Shooter Scout Available Weapons: Only default Scout Weapons
The Sharp Shooter excels in focusing on big hits, with the M1000 doing significant damage at max level.
Gunner
The Gunner excels in dealing raw damage and tanking enemy attacks.
Gunner Weapons (Default)
These are the default/unlockable Gunner weapons available in Deep Rock Galactic Survival:
- ArmKore Coil Gun
- BRT17 Burst Fire Gun
- "Bulldog" Heavy Revolver
- "Hurricane" Guided Rocket System
- Incendiary Grenade
- "Lead Storm" Powered Minigun
- Tactical Leadburster
- Seismic Repulsor
- "Thunderhead" Heavy Autocannon.
The Weapons Specialist and Heavy Gunner classes have additional weapons available to them, see below.
Weapons Specialist
- Unlocked: Player Rank 3
- Starting Weapon: "Lead Storm" Powered Minigun
- For every 100 projectiles fired, you shoot out 8 [high-powered] projectiles in all directions.
- Gives access to [PROJECTILE] weapons
- Weapons Specialist Gunner Available Weapons: Default Gunner Weapons, Deepcore GK2, Jury-Rigged Boomstick, Zhukov NUK17, Subata 120, Experimental Plasma Charger, LMG Gun Platform, "Warthog" Auto 210, "Stubby" Voltaic SMG, LOK-1 Smart Rifle, M1000 Classic, Drak-25 Plasma Carbine, Nishanka Boltshark X-80.
The Weapons Specialist is a balanced Class that has no one specific focus on the Gunner's Class Weapons.
Juggernaut
- Unlocked: Gunner Class Rank 9
- Starting Weapon: "Bulldog" Heavy Revolver
- +10 Armor
- +50 Max HP
- -50% Weapon Range
- When you take damage, you gain +10% Damage for 10 seconds. Stacks up to 5 times.
- Juggernaut Gunner Available Weapons: Only Default Gunner Weapons
The Juggernaut is probably the best Class at tanking damage. You won't be so great at fending off enemies at range, but you won't have to.
Heavy Gunner
- Unlocked: Gunner Class rank 18
- Starting Weapon: "Thunderhead" Heavy Autocannon
- Gives access to [HEAVY] weapons
- -10% Move Speed
- +[HEAVY] 25% Weapon Range
- +[HEAVY] 25% Reload Speed
- Heavy Gunner Gunner Available Weapons: Default Gunner Weapons, CRSPR Flamethrower, Corrosive Sledge Pump, Cryo Cannon, Breach Cutter, Shard Diffractor.
The Heavy Gunner is essentially a beefed-up version of a Weapons Specialist. If you prefer to focus on raw damage with big guns, this is the Class to pick.
Engineer
The Engineer is an expert at placing turrets. Generally, you'll have a harder time damaging enemies directly since you rely on turrets so much. However, you can also use these turrets to lock down a chokepoint and hang back.
Engineer Weapons (Default)
These are the default/unlockable Engineer weapons available in Deep Rock Galactic Survival:
- LMG Gun Platform
- "Warthog" Auto 210
- Deepcore PGL
- Breach Cutter
- Hi-Volt Thunderbird
- LOK-1 Smart Rifle
- Plasma Burster
- Shard Diffractor
- Shredder Swarm Grenade
- "Stubby" Voltaic SMG
- Voltaic Shock Fence.
The Maintenance Worker has more weapons available to the class, see below.
Maintenance Worker Class
- Unlocked: Player Rank 5
- Starting Weapon: LMG Gun Platform
- Gives access to [CONSTRUCT] Weapons
- +[CONSTRUCT] 10% Damage
- +[CONSTRUCT] 10% Reload Speed
- Maintenance Worker Engineer Available Weapons: Default Engineer Weapons, Arc-Tek Cryo Guard, Firefly Hunter Drone, K1-P Viper Drone,
The Maintenance Worker is one of the more challenging Classes to play at the beginning. You lack any direct ability to damage enemies; instead, you must rely on placing LMG Gun Platforms.
Tinkerer
- Unlocked: Engineer Class Rank 9
- Starting Weapon: "Warthog" Auto 210
- Weapons start at Weapon Level 3
- +10% XP Gain
- Tinkerer Engineer Available Weapons: Default Engineer Weapons.
The Tinkerer is an exceptional Class for quickly leveling up.
Demolitionist
- Unlocked: Engineer Class Rank 18
- Starting Weapon: Deepcore PGL
- +20% Explosion Radius [EXPLOSIVE]
- +20% Reload Speed [EXPLOSIVE]
- Demolitionist Engineer Available Weapons: Default Engineer Weapons, Cryo Grenade, High Explosive Grenade, "Hurricane" Guided Rocket System, Impact Axe, Incendiary Grenade, Neurotoxin Grenade.
The demolitionist is fully focused on explosions, using grenades and rockets to quickly gear groups of enemies.
Driller
As you might expect, the Driller excels at Mining. This Class also has a strong focus on AOE damage.
Driller Weapons (Default)
These are the default/unlockable Driller weapons available in Deep Rock Galactic Survival:
- CRSPR Flamethrower
- Colette Wave Cooker
- Corrosive Sludege Pump
- Cryo Cannon
- Experimental Plasma Charger
- High Explosive Grenade
- Impact Axe
- K1-P Viper Drone
- Krakatoa Sentinel
- Neurotoxin Grenade
The Interrogator has more weapons available to the class, see below.
Foreman
- Unlocked: Player Rank 7
- Starting Weapon: Subata 120
- When Mining gain +2% Mining Speed for 2 seconds. Stacks up to 25 times.
- Foreman Available Weapons: Default Driller Weapons.
The Foreman gets great bonuses to Mining. The Subata 120 fires directly behind the Driller, allowing you to keep moving forward through a tunnel while gradually doing damage to any alien bugs following behind you.
Interrogator
- Unlocked: Driller Class Rank 9
- Starting Weapon: CRSPR Flamethrower
- Gives access to [FIRE] [ACID] Weapons
- -30% Damage
- +100% Status Effect Damage
- Interrogator Available Weapons: Default Driller Weapons, Firefly Hunter Drone, Incendiary Grenade, Nishanka Boltshark X-80.
The Interrogator focuses on improving the damage over time from [FIRE] and [ACID] Weapons.
Strong Armed
- Unlocked: Driller Class Rank 18
- Starting Weapon: Impact Axe
- +20% Weapon Range
- Strong Armed Available Weapons: Default Driller Weapons, Cryo Grenade, Incendiary Grenade, Plasma Burster, Shredder Swarm Grenade, Tactical Leadburster, Voltaic Stun Sweeper.
The Strong Armed Class Mod focuses on throwables, with a primary axe and then grenade and the Voltaic Stun Sweeper.
