Our Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Weapon and Armor Unlocks Guide will tell you how to unlock every type of Weapon and Armor Slot!

You can support your adventures in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora by choosing the right Skills and Cooking some good Food, but at the end of the day, you're going to need the best Weapons and Armor to defeat the RDA. Read on to learn how to unlock all of the equipment you'll need!

You can get a lot of cool equipment, but you won't be able to access it right away -- you'll have to unlock some of it first.

How to Get All Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora Weapon and Armor Unlocks

Here's how to unlock every Weapon and piece of Armor in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora. Keep in mind that you are unlocking an equipment slot or the ability to find a specific class of Weapon; you'll still need to find or Craft better equipment as you play through the game.

Longbow

You'll unlock the Longbow during the early-game Story Quest "Pandora."

Chest Guard, Armguard, Waistcloth, and Ankle Guards Armor Slots

You'll unlock the Chest Guard, Armguard, Waistcloth, and Ankle Guards Armor Slots during the "Welcome to the Resistance" Story Quest. However, you will only be given a Chest Guard and Waistcloth; you'll have to find or Craft an Armguard and Ankle Guard if you want to equip those.

Fourth Weapon Slot

The fourth Weapon Slot can be unlocked by getting the "Well Prepared" Skill in the Warrior Skill Tree.

Staff Sling

So'lek will give you the Staff Sling partway through the Story Quest "Becoming."

Assault Rifle

Assault Rifles are ubiquitous in RDA facilities; you will likely be able to loot one if you try to clear up some of the pollution at the larger facilities. Alternatively, you can purchase one from the Resistance.

Heavy Bow

The Heavy Bow will be unlocked during the "Eywa's Blessing" Quest.

Shotgun

You can potentially get your hands on a Shotgun as early as the Story Quest "Eye of Eywa;" I had a Shotgun drop for me as loot in one of the chests. It may be possible to get it even earlier than that, but I can't confirm that.

Rocket Launcher

I first got a Rocket Launcher at Hydro-Extractor Alpha as part of the Story Quest "Pushing Back." It can also be found hidden in some places in larger RDA bases.

Unfortunately, the Rocket Launcher is not a permanent weapon; you can only fire 3 shots and it can't be reloaded. You'll drop it if you swap weapons or try to interact with certain objects. If you find one, it's best to use it right away rather than let the free explosives go to waste!

Head Guard Armor Slot

You'll unlock the Head Guard Armor Slot (and get your first Head Guard) as a reward for completing the Story Quest "Pushing Back" at Hometree.

Spear Thrower

The Spear Thrower will be given to you in the Upper Plains (the second major area of the game) while you're progressing through the Story Quest "Hunters Hunted."

Shortbow

Once again, So'lek will come through by giving you a new weapon -- you'll get the Shortbow from him at Zakru's Promise before the attack in the "Combined Forces" Story Quest.

Best Weapon to Use

The best Weapon to use is the Staff Sling. Although it's difficult to aim, its explosive charges can kill most enemies in one shot -- as long as you can get your shot to land near your target and trigger the proximity fuse.

If you miss your target, you still have two options: you can pick up unspent explosive charges later or you can shoot them with a gun or bow to manually detonate them.

Best Armor to Use

The best Armor to use, simply put, is whichever armor gives you the best bonus and highest-possible stats. You should expect to change your Armor multiple times as you progress through the game, whether you find it, Craft it, or buy it.
