From developer Cold Symmetry comes a dark action-RPG in the vein of Dark Souls. Mortal Shell has you fight against the darkness of a decaying, shattered world. Posses the bodies of long-dead warriors and face off against a diverse amount of adversaries that look to slay you in this desperate world.
Mortal Shell's combat is designed to be more strategic, in the vein of the Dark Souls series. You need to find openings in your enemy's armor to slash through opponents. Calculate parries to counterblow enemies, strike with precision, and block attacks by transforming yourself to stone. Each warrior you posses shows off a different playstyle, so mastering combat with these shells is key to your victory.
These choices are just some of the ways developer Cold Symmetry is attempting to make combat both dynamic and visceral. Accompanied by gorgeous graphics and a dark gothic aesthetic.
Mortal Shell will be available for the PC via Epic Games, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 later this year. A closed beta will be available on July 3rd, and it will be a timed exclusive for Epic Games, and it will release in 2021 on Steam.
