A lengthy Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint gameplay trailer has been released, giving us details on what we can expect to see in this next tacticool shooter from Ubisoft. Once again, you'll dive into a world where a few rough and tumble men will be able to turn the tide of any battle through ingenuous gadgets and clever tactics!

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer — The World and Story

The first bits of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer details the background of the game world. You'll take on the role of a "fully customizable" special operations soldier. This time, you'll be facing similarly-skilled enemies who are well familiar with your tactics.

Engineer and entrepreneur Jace Skell has built the headquarters of his company on the island of Auroa. A former Ghost named Colonel Cole Walker realizes the potential of Skell Technology's A.I. designs for warfare and has taken control of Auroa with the help of the Wolves, a rogue U.S. Army special operations unit. (Also, he's the Punisher.) It's the usual supervillain fare: he wants to take over the world and you must stop them.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer — PvE Missions

Up to four players can play in drop-in, drop-out co-op gameplay. Primarily, you're going to be trying to eliminate Colonel Walker, fend off the Wolves, and help the islanders and Skell's employees. You'll also have to take advantage of the terrain, using the right camouflage for the right situation a la Metal Gear Solid 3.

Survival will be a big part of this upcoming game as noted in the Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer. Your bivouac — that is, a fancy word for "temporary camp" — will be used to heal up, prep your gear, and even change your class. You can and will get injured, and you'll have to use natural resources to get yourself back into fighting shape. (Hey, they send special ops folks to SERE for good reason!)

Players will be able to select from different classes and a boatload of different weapons, most of which can be upgraded and customized. You'll also have a skill tree to work your way through as you play. Not up for hoofing it around the island? Worry not — there will be vehicles, too!

Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer — PvP and Post Launch

PvP and PvE are heavily integrated in Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Billed as "One Game, One Character", the combined feature set will mean that you won't need to level up a separate character for each of the two gameplay modes.

The first (and so far only) PvP game mode highlighted is "Ghost War", a 4v4 battle in maps designed especially for player vs. player combat. A Battle Royale-style shrinking combat zone will mean that things are going to get more intense as time goes on.

Everything detailed here isn't the be-all and end-all, mind! Ubisoft has plenty of post-launch content planned, the most notable feature being raids. Raids are a four-player co-op mode for elite players will take place on a brand new island. You'll probably have to wait a bit for it to launch, but you can keep yourself busy with new faction missions being launched every day. New story and live events will also be coming throughout the game's first year, one of which will be a battle against the Terminator (yes, that Terminator).

You can see these new features and more in the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint Gameplay Trailer below. Ghost Recon Breakpoint launches worldwide on October 4, 2019, for the PC via Epic Games Store, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. A Google Stadia version will follow sometime in November 2019.
